You may have noticed some changes going on with Gregory Poole Equipment Company over the last few months. On October 17, we acquired Dougherty Equipment Company, VBS Inc. Material Handling Equipment and the NC and SC locations of Briggs Equipment. This expanded our company’s footprint to 15 locations in 13 cities throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
We’ve increased our family along with our territory. Many fantastic associates from Dougherty, VBS, and Briggs have joined the Gregory Poole Lift Systems team, allowing us to incorporate the best people and best practices from four different companies. This is making us stronger and even more capable of meeting our customers needs and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the team.
Along with expanding our territory, this acquisition has allowed us to become an official dealer of the Hyster and Yale brands across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. We’re especially excited because Hyster-Yale Materials Handling Inc. is headquartered in Greenville, North Carolina with plants in Greenville and Berea, Kentucky. Our geographic proximity is a boon to our customers, as we’ll be able to offer even faster equipment and parts delivery and faster resolutions to any issues that may arise with their equipment.
We recognize that change can be difficult, but it’s also an exciting part of growing our business. For over fifty years, Gregory Poole has been committed to our customers, and we’re renewing that commitment through this merger. We will make this change as seamless as possible and provide all our customers with improved customer service and reduced response times – we are your operations partner.
