Family-Owned Gregory Poole Equipment Co. Celebrates 75 Years in Business
[RALEIGH, N.C., April 1, 2026] – Gregory Poole Lift System’s parent company Gregory Poole Equipment Co., will celebrate a monumental achievement on April 1, 2026, marking 75 years in business. For over seven decades, the equipment dealer has played an instrumental role in the growth in eastern North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
The equipment dealer first opened with only 35 employees at two locations and has been entirely family-owned and led since its founding. Today, the company has over 1,500 employees across 28 locations, with 13 of those locations representing Gregory Poole Lift Systems.
The company’s lift truck division began in 1968 and has since expanded its footprint into South Carolina and Virginia in addition to its eastern North Carolina market. Since 2015 it has been an authorized Hyster and Yale dealer, providing a full range of material handling solutions, including internal combustion, electric, and large-capacity lift trucks.
“Regardless of scale, we are always the small, local family-owned company that anybody can pick up the phone and call. We’re always going to have extremely close relationships, and nothing is ever going to be transactional with us,” says Senior Vice President Greg Poole IV.
